In June 2008, three members of Paths of Native Africa- Horgan Edet, President; Sven Wiederholt, Photographer; and Tony Moses, Appropriate Technology Evangelist- will journey to Ikot Usen, Nigeria. They will be joined by Engineers without Borders representative, Dimeji Ifatimehin, and stay in the village for three weeks to initiate and facilitate a project involving "BoGo Light" solar powered flashlights and the secondary school.

Five hundred solar lights have been donated, and proceeds of their sale by the students will launch a scholarship fund for the secondary school.
In the process, the students become fluent in the practical application of solar energy. In their making contact with the villagers and businesses, others also are engaged in the concept and how it relates to the future of their communities. The scholarship fund will provide continuing opportunities after secondary school graduation, in academics or to start an eco-conscious business.

We are currently taking donations to ensure the travel there, and back to San Francisco, for our representatives, and for the travel within Nigeria of Dimeji, Engineers Without Borders partner.
Any amount accrued in excess of the actual transportation costs goes directly into the scholarship fund.

Thank you!

assists members of the human family through projects that integrate modern technology, without threat of assimilation, for the sole purpose of overcoming suffering and hardship.

We provide solutions on both individual and communal levels, ensuring that they be self-sustaining, and include the opportunity for continued improvements in quality of life.

In this process, avenues for educational and cultural exchange are opened by which the timeless wisdoms of African people can be shared and passed on in an atmosphere of respect, kindness, and freedom.

We are a not-for-profit, charitable organization,
receiving the  501  (C)(3) status in 2000.  All proceeds and contributions of money or in like kind go directly to the projects supported by
PATHS OF NATIVE AFRICA.
We appreciate your interest and generosity,
and welcome you to our family!
